Great book, bought back loads of memories, superb!
Interesting book covering lots of Spectrum classics
"Do I really need another book about Speccy games ?" I thought to myself when I saw this was on pre-sale last year. I've already bought many (mostly from this site !) and was wondering if there could be anything that I hadn't seen or read before. Maybe it was lockdown boredom or just itching for something Speccy related while I wait for my Spectrum Next to arrive but in the end I thought why not ? And I am so glad I went for it. Of course, all of the games featured will be familiar to any Speccy fan but it's in the writing that this book is such a joy. I had many of them as a kid but found the stories of the authors experience with them not only nostalgic and relatable but also very entertaining and amusing. These aren't just reviews of old games, the author really brings alive the feelings of the time as an excitable youngster. Very highly recommended.
I can't but recommend this book. Every classic Spectrum user will be enjoying these retro memories and reviews of such an interesting selection of games. It's written in a light and humorous style, perfect for reading at bedtime after a long day. Plus, the printing quality is really remarkable which adds to the overall experience. A must-buy for all retro gamers!
Having a ZX Spectrum as a kid this brought back many great memories. A great informative read with details of many classic Spectrum games. Highly recommended.
